Introduction
:

Hi! blssdfall27 here. That's my account name on youtube. Better check it out. LOL. :-).. My name is L.A. Abecilla. I've been constructing this site during my free time. I do not take cubing seriously. It's just a form of hobby and I am currently enjoying it so much!! Therefore I can say that cubing is an art and I can foretell that cubing would be very popular in the future as a form of competitive sport. I want the site visitors to enjoy and to learn a lot from this site. I want to end the doubts and hesitations of people who do not believe that they can solve the cube in just below 30 secs. The main objective of my cube domain (this website) is to give some tips and guidelines about cubing to persons who wants to "CONQUER the cube". I am referring to a more advanced method of solving one. First, we will be focusing on a regular 3x3x3 cube where I averaged about 20-23 secs., pretty slow huh. Sorry, I'm in the process of learning but yet I'm still improving and I am expecting to learn more while constructing this site. I will be giving list of algorithms (set of moves you might want to do to solve the cube) and those algorithms will be based from the well-known Fridrich method, which I will explain to you later. I will also give some speedcubing tips and tutorial videos for us to conquer other cube structures but I think, it will took me a long period of time to finish that. And lastly, I will be also providing other cubing sites for more reference.

Note: (For those who can't solve the cube)

If you think a 40 second solve of a regular 3x3x3 cube is slow because the current world record is 8.72 secs.(the previous WR by Yu Nakajima was beaten by a 7.08 solve by Erik Akkersdijk.. tsk3), then think again. If you start learning how to solve the cube and reach the average of 40 you might get what I mean.

3x3x3 (Rubik's cube):

This is the cube which started it all. Other forms of cubes and puzzles was derived from this model such as 2x2x2 cube, 4x4x4 cube, 5x5x5 cube, megaminx, pyraminx and many many more(I am saying more than a hundred types of a puzzle). The inventor was Erno Rubik's, a Hungarian inventor/architect. - won't give a lot of description about this person cause I hate him for some reasons.LOL. A key fact to understand about Rubik's Cube is that it consists not of 54 independent stickers but of 8 corner pieces, each with 3 specific stickers, and 12 edges, each with 2 specific stickers. Stickers on the same cubie (one of the 20 corners or edges) will always remain on the same cubie (to see this, disassemble your cube).

I got into cubing because of some reasons. First, I thought it is impossible to solve one, a challenge for me. Second, I saw a lot of kids impressing others while solving it and lastly, I saw a video of a person who can solve it in just 15 seconds, can't remember his name. Imagine, you must pair all the six sides of the cube with right color which I think impossible (before) because each time you make a move, you're gonna ruin other oriented pieces. Well I guess all beginners experience that kind of hesitations that's why some of them gave up easily. I have also seen videos of people solving it blindfolded, one-handed and even using their feet. Then, after some short research about the principles of solving a cube, I finally come up with the idea that a 15 seconds solve is not that hard at all because we have these so-called methods. Algorithms are the main part of these methods. Algorithms are made by experts called commutators. We have a lot of methods in solving the cube, like Petrus, Roux, Fridrich, ZBF2L,COLL, etc., but I'm only going to discuss the most popular and fastest way of solving the 3x3x3 cube, the Fridrich method (CFOP). We will not be discussing the beginner's method anymore because you can start learning to solve the cube using the (CFOP) like the world champion, Yu Nakajima's(I admire him a lot) cubing history.

Note:

My cubing conquest started 6 months ago. I didn't focus a lot on it that's why I'm still slow. If you want to solve the cube using beginners method then here's the link (http://www.pjkcubed.com/).ENJOY!!
